The other day I had shared a way that you could be supporting your friends small business without spending any money...today I want to go over more of how supporting a smal business and shopping your local mom and pop and brick and mortar stores can mean so much to those business owners.
Why should you support small businesses?
Why should you support those small businesses you ask? Sometimes those business owners could be a single mom trying to support her childeren and family, or it could be someone with a vision for something bigger and they're just trying to grow their business and make it.
When you go into those small brick and mortar shops and shop, or you hire someone such as myself that works online you know that you are getting more care and attention put into your service and products!
Every dollar spent in those businesses means the whole world to that owner!
Yes sometimes things may be a dollar or two more from those businesses but they are being made and done by hand...just for you.
How to find small businesses in your community?
Your local Walmart, Safeway, Starbucks...are not small businesses! Growing up I'll always remember our little grocery store called the Joplin Mart. One of the gals that I graduated with, her family owned it and I absolutely loved going in there on our school lunch breaks and getting snacks. With smaller family owned businesses the owners and employees get to know and care about their customers and they become more like family.
What are the benefits of buying from small businesses?
Did you know that small businesses can have access to the same vendors as the big box businesses? Did you also know that if you don't find what you need at these small shops, they're usually more willing and able to find and order the sizes you need, or the flavors you want?
By going into small businesses or choosing a small service provider (like me or someone else that provides a service like myself,) you can get a more personalized and welcoming experience with them. Walk in to shop or call them and you'll be greeted by name. All of us start feeling and becoming community.
Interesting fact: did you know that small businesses have helped create more than half the available jobs in the market since 1995? Amazing right?
How to support small businesses without spending money?
As I went over in a previous post: supporting a small business can be totally free for you. Even just a like, comment, share...even make a post on your own featuring them!
